2024 Tour Stops for the "Oceanic 31" Exhibition

31 Artists for 31 Species of Oceanic Sharks and Rays :

The Oceanic 31 Art Exhibition is continuing into 2024 with several stops in the UK until it culminates in the final destination at the Royal Geographic Society in London. The exhibition was put together by Shark Trust UK to reach a new audience and educate and inspire them about the incredible shark and ray marine life that call the ocean home. As part of the Big Shark Pledge campaign, Oceanic 31 is  a collection of work by a group of international artists (of which I'm proud to be one) who are passionate about the ocean, sharks, conservation, and who are using their art to inform and educate in order to bring about change.

Oceanic refers to the vast expanse of the open seas, away from land. The creatures highlighted in Oceanic 31 primarily inhabit this open ocean environment for a large portion of their lives. These waters lie beyond any specific country's borders, falling outside standard jurisdiction and are particularly susceptible to overexploitation due to the absence of agreed-upon management and enforcement of regulations.

The global abundance of oceanic sharks and rays has declined 71% over the last 50 years, primarily due to overfishing.

Limited edition prints of some of the artworks are available to buy for £35. After the exhibition has toured, the original artworks will be raffled or auctioned off in an online.  and raffle tickets on sale for a final auction in November for a chance of owning an original, with all profits going to the Big Shark Pledge campaign.
